Bettencourt's daugher accuses her mother's "friend" François-Marie Banier of scheming to steal away her mother's fortune, taking advantage of her declining mental health. The photographer denies these claims, and his innocence will the be the subject of the ensuing court battle, but these accusations have brought to light some alleged illegal donations to president Nicolas Sarkozy's campaign.
